Omer lives in Turkey with his mother, Dr. Zahide Alacam, who brings the rare dual perspective of physician and ZTTK parent. He was born with bilateral clubfoot and a horseshoe kidney, and lives with infantile muscular hypotonia and moderate intellectual disability.
His mother's medical expertise has been invaluable in navigating the Turkish healthcare system and ensuring Omer receives comprehensive care. As a Medical Advisory Board member and Turkey's ZTTK ambassador, she channels her professional skills and personal experience into supporting families around the world.
Omer's story is a reminder that ZTTK affects families in every country and every walk of life — and that no family should have to navigate it alone.
